Folsom Boulevard Shut Down Following a Fatal Single Truck Accident
The driver of a full-size Ford pickup truck was involved in a single-car accident about 2:40 a.m. on Folsom Boulevard near Natoma Station Drive. It appears that the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed, hit the center median and rolled his truck several time onto the side of the road. The California Highway Patrol reported that the Folsom Fire Department worked on getting the man out of the badly damaged truck for almost 30 minutes. Unfortunately he was pronounced dead while being transported to a local Folsom hospital. The driver has yet to be released.
Southbound Folsom Blvd was closed for over 6 hours while the CHP investigated the car accident. So far there has been no witnesses so the Folsom police are asking local businesses to see if any video camera might have caught the truck on camera before it crashed. The accident occurred on Folsom Boulevard immediately in front of the Folsom Lake recreation area access road.
Folsom residents had to find another route to highway 50 for their Thursday morning commute due to the deadly truck accident. It created a major problem for local residents trying to get to work. The Folsom Police Department does not know yet if alcohol or drugs were involved in the fatal truck accident.
The Folsom truck accident attorneys at the Tiemann Law Firm urge drivers to be very careful while driving at night and always drive within the posted speed limit. Driving unsafely at night increases the chances of having a car accident.
