Wrongful Death Lawsuits in Sacramento
It is tragic when a person dies in a motor vehicle accident. The details of the above accident are still unknown because no one survived to explain what occurred just prior to the accident. Law enforcement officers must try to piece together what caused the wreck from evidence at the accident scene, eyewitness testimony, and any traffic camera footage that may be available. Sadly, knowing the reason for the accident won’t take away the pain that the families of these individuals are experiencing from the loss of their loved ones.
When there is a fatality in a car accident, the family of the deceased may have a wrongful death claim against the other driver or another party. The attorney for the family must prove that the other party caused the accident before the family can receive compensation for their loss. A wrongful death lawsuit is a complex matter that requires the help of an experienced Sacramento wrongful death attorney.
Why Should I File a California Wrongful Death Lawsuit?
A lawsuit will not bring your family member back, and money can never erase your pain. However, seeking justice for your loved one and your family can provide some measure of closure after losing a loved one in a car accident. Furthermore, a monetary settlement can also help pay living expenses and provide for your family, especially if your loved one was the main source of income for the family.
Lastly, a wrongful death lawsuit sheds light on why the accident occurred. If the other driver is guilty of drunk, distracted, reckless, drugged, or drowsy driving, it is helpful to bring this behavior to light so that other drivers see the consequences of such negligent behavior.
