On December 14, a man was killed in an apparent hit-and-run accident in Rio Linda according to the California Highway Patrol. A witness heard a “loud thud” around 4 a.m. and called police. When officers arrived, one man was dead apparently struck by a vehicle on Elk Horn Boulevard near 30th Street. No information is known about the suspect vehicle at this time.

On December 12, two people were killed and one person seriously injured in a three-car collision on Interstate Highway 680 in Fairfield. One vehicle burst into flames after the collision. According to law enforcement authorities, alcohol and/or drugs appear to be a factor in causing the crash.
- FedEx Truck Crash Results in One Death in Sacramento, CA
A FedEx truck traveling southbound on I-5 in Sacramento crossed the center divide and collided with a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck was killed instantly. The accident partially closed I-5 on December 10 while law enforcement officers investigated the fatal truck accident.
- Pedestrian Killed in Car Accident in Sacramento, CA
A pedestrian crossing the road at Power Inn Road and Florin Road was struck by a vehicle traveling in the northbound lane. According to the CHP, speed and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the accident; however, fog may have played a factor in the pedestrian’s death.
- Police Sergeant Killed in Two-Car Accident in Stanislaus County, CA
A sergeant with the Stanislaus Sherriff’s Department was killed in a fatal car crash on December 4 on Leedom Road near Santa Fe Avenue. Another driver traveling north on Leedom Road traveled into the southbound lane and collided with the officer’s vehicle. Both drivers died in the vehicle accident.
- Three-vehicle Crash in Vacaville, CA
A three-car accident in Vacaville, CA on December 2 sent five people to the hospital. The vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Davis Street and Alamo in Vacaville. Vacaville Fire Station 74 responded to the accident before the victims were transferred to VacaValley Hospital.
