Sacramento Residents Killed in Highway 99 Crash
A motor vehicle accident on southbound Highway 99 has resulted in the death of two Sacramento residents, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. The fatal wreck that killed the two people happened on Friday morning.
Tevis Haggard and Rosemary Haggard were driving a sport-utility vehicle (SUV) southbound on Highway 99 when the vehicle crashed hard into the center divider on the highway north of 47th Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, witnesses said the SUV was speeding and officers said the driver may have suffered a medical emergency.
Although much is still unknown about the accident, it appears as though Tevis Haggard, 67, was driving and Rosemary Haggard, 61, riding in a Nissan Pathfinder that clipped a Toyota Camry and crashed into the median on Highway 99. Tevis Haggard was pronounced dead at an area hospital while Rosemary Haggard, who had been ejected from the SUV, died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Camry sustained minor injuries.
