At 3:50 a.m. on Saturday morning, a drunk driver plowed into another vehicle, killing one and injuring two others. The Sacramento drunk driving accident occurred on SR-99 just north of Stockton Boulevard.
The fatal drunk driving accident was caused by 34-year-old Jian Saeteurn, who was driving a 2004 Infinity under the influence of alcohol. While driving at high speeds, Saeteurn rear ended Rajendra Parsad, 58, who was driving a 2006 Dodge.
As a result of the impact of Saeteurn rear ending the Dodge, Parsad veered across the northbound lanes of traffic, went through the guard rail along the east side of the roadway, and smashed into a concrete pillar supporting the Stockton Boulevard overpass.
The toll of this accident was significant. A passenger in Parsad’s vehicle was killed. In addition, Parsad suffered serious injuries, and another 26-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries. Saeteurn, who crashed into a chain link fence along the road, was fine. He fled the scene but was later located at his residence.
Saeteurn was booked into the Sacramento County Jail for felony DUI, felony hit and run, and vehicular manslaughter charges. If you have additional information about the crash, the South Sacramento CHP urges you to call (916) 999-9000.
Unfortunately, negligent drivers who have had too much to drink still get behind the wheel, and cause serious Sacramento car accidents as a result. These crashes have far-reaching implications for those involved, including serious injuries and loss of life. The innocent parties are then left to pick up the pieces.
