Roseville CA Man Killed in Boating Accident
On Monday, 55-year-old Ananiy Malinovsky, of Roseville, died in a boating accident on Tomales Bay on the north coast, according to the Marin County Sheriff’s Department. Malinovsky had gone fishing near the tip of Tomales Point when his boat was hit by two huge and unexpected waves.
One of the passengers, Alex Tupinov, managed to swim ashore and told family members about the wreck. “As soon as they came around some rocks, it was coming out of a cove, a wave hit them,” said Daniel Malinovsky, the victim’s son. “They just started swimming and they had all their jackets on them and everything. And they grabbed and tried to hold on to life vests. But the water was ripping everything out of their hands,” Malinovsky said.
The third person on the boat, identified by family members as Sergey Golubyatnikov, a dentist from Roseville, is still missing. A spokesman for the National Park Service, which manages the Point Reyes National Seashore, said helicopters and boats were continuing to look for the missing man.
Relatives said all three men were members of the Light of the World Church in North Highlands. Golubyatnikov is originally from Russia and Malinovsky and Tupikov are from from Ukraine. Unfortunately, Malinovsky leaves behind a wife and eight children, ages four to 27.
